Cara brings a lifelong passion for Thoroughbreds to her role at Run for the Ribbons, shaped by her early exposure to the racing world through her father’s interest in Thoroughbreds. Her deep appreciation for the breed began in childhood, spending time on the backstretch of racetracks with longtime friend Laurine. These formative experiences sparked a lasting connection with the horses and a strong understanding of the care and commitment they deserve beyond the track.

As our Social Media & Communications Coordinator, Cara manages Run for the Ribbons’ online presence with creativity and purpose. She is responsible for curating engaging content that reflects our mission, highlights the journey of our horses, and showcases the dedicated volunteers and unique personalities—both human and animal—that make our organization so special.

Outside of her work with the nonprofit, Cara is the loving mother to a young son. In her free time, she is an avid reader, writer, occasional singer, artist, and enjoys cooking. She is a former licensed massage therapist and reiki, as well as a frequent concert goer, horror fan, and theme park enthusiast.

With a keen eye for storytelling and a genuine love for Thoroughbreds, Cara ensures our message reaches the broader community in an impactful and meaningful way. Her work helps build awareness, foster connection, and inspire support for Thoroughbred aftercare.
