Laurine Fuller-Vargas
Founder & President | Operations & Facility Manager | TB Trainer
Laurine Fuller-Vargas, a third-generation horsewoman, grew up in Massachusetts immersed in the world of Thoroughbreds, following her grandfather Lloyd and mother Lori’s passion for training and racing. By age 12, she became the youngest licensed racehorse owner in the state, and in 2008, she saddled Ask Queenie, Massachusetts’ all-time richest-bred, to her first win as a licensed trainer.
In 2006, Laurine moved from Massachusetts to Florida to pursue her dreams and deepen her commitment to Thoroughbreds. In 2014, she founded Run for the Ribbons Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit born from her lifelong love and respect for Thoroughbreds as athletes deserving safe, fulfilling second careers after racing. Her vision is to create a lasting community that supports rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming of off-track Thoroughbreds, while educating the public about their value beyond the track.
When she’s not caring for horses or championing her mission, Laurine is pursuing a degree in Education Sciences. Her dream is to combine her passions by creating an equine-assisted learning program at RFTR, using the healing power of horses to help people in need thrive.
