Setting the pace in Thoroughbred aftercare

Run for the Ribbons Inc. is a passion driven charitable organization focusing on Thoroughbred aftercare. Our mission is to continue to improve Thoroughbred aftercare efforts in Florida through our program while also providing a platform for Thoroughbred enthusiasts to showcase their equine partners annually. We strive to raise awareness of the talents of Thoroughbreds as sport horses and creating a widespread demand for these exceptional athletes is the goal. Through our Thoroughbred centric events we continue to educate equestrians, as well as the broader community, on the value of Thoroughbreds during and after their racing careers. We also help bridge the gap between the racing industry and show world through our diverse team of dedicated horsemen, whose roots started on the racetrack and understand the importance of caring for the equine athletes in all stages of life.

Upon being founded in 2014, RFTR became a popular local horse show series for competitors on OTTB’s with proceeds benefitting the charity. In 2017, Run for the Ribbons created and hosted the first annual Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Expo. The Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Expo at the Florida Horse Park, is a multi-disciplined event allowing Thoroughbreds to showcase their many diverse talents, offering prize money annually. Cedar Lock Farm, in Morriston, is home to our aftercare program and hunter/jumper schooling shows, and here our focus is rehabilitation and retraining of Thoroughbreds to ensure successful transitions into their new careers.
