REHAB – RETRAIN – REHOME – RESCUE – RETIRE
Cedar Lock Farm, in Morriston, is home to our aftercare program and hunter/jumper schooling shows, and here our focus is the rehabilitation and retraining of Thoroughbreds to ensure successful transitions into their new careers.
Since its founding, the Lockhart family farm has been used for all aspects of the organization, except hosting the Florida Thoroughbred Expo. The 64-acre facility is conveniently located on Highway 464B just miles from the World Equestrian Center and HITS. Run for the Ribbons can utilize the 12-stall barn, a round pen, three riding arenas with jump courses, a 1/2 mile conditioning track, and multiple fields for training and turnout.
Duchess is our newest RFTR "lifer". After the unexpected passing of her owner Lauren Rubio, beloved friend of found Laurine, we have unanimously decided to give her a forever home in our aftercare program. We hope to honor Lauren's memory everyday and give her family and loved ones a small peace of mind in this aspect of Lauren's legacy. Our sincere condolences go out to all of Lauren's family and friends. She was an amazing horsewoman that will be greatly missed. "Lifers" in the Run for the Ribbons Aftercare Program - all of our lifers are available to foster or adopt as companion horses (pasture sound; not rideable) - If interested in making one of them your new best friend please fill out an adoption application form and we will contact you with more details!
